Holladay Memorial Cemetery

Holladay Memorial Cemetery & Salt Lake Peace Mausoleum

With the backdrop of Mount Olympus, historic Holladay Memorial Park offers a tranquil sanctuary for the memories of your loved one.  Holladay Memorial Park is a quiet, serene place of remembrance that offers convenience, history, and peace and is tucked away in a quaint neighborhood.

After entering the Salt Lake Valley, Brigham Young created five ward cemeteries, one of which was Holladay Cemetery.  Holladay Cemetery was the first Utah pioneer cemetery outside of Salt Lake City.  In 1848, when the first pioneer death occurred in Holladay, the cemetery knoll in the southeast section was selected as a community cemetery.  For 127 years, local LDS church leaders oversaw the 13-acre cemetery as the final resting place for many pioneers, settlers, and their progeny.

Holladay offers three beautiful mausoleums for people not wishing to be buried below ground.  Our latest addition is the Salt Lake Valley Peace Mausoleum.  It is a unique state-of-the-art final resting place for your loved one.  The two-story mausoleum features family crypts, a meditation room, committal chapel, and a family heritage room.

In a secluded nook of the cemetery, Hope Springs Cremation Garden is reserved for the cremains of a loved one.  Carefully landscaped with the statues and a water fountain, Hope Springs is a beautiful area for quiet remembrance.
