Moira H Lawson

Our wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, confidant, companion and friend, Moira H. Lawson left this life on November 8, 2017.
Born in Durham, England on February 14, 1944, Moira was fiercely independent and she was right, but even when she wasn’t, it always made for a lively discussion.
She joined the LDS church in England and emigrated with two young children to Utah to provide a better life for them. She met and married the love of her life James Lawson and completed her goal of having a good life with him and all of her children.
Always wanting to help and give her children more, she worked, fussed, prayed and nagged at them with love and concern. She taught them to be strong, exceptional and independent people.

She was met in Heaven by her parents Albert and Elsie Hutchinson and her son Paul Lawson. She will be missed by her husband, James A. Lawson; children: Tammy Lawson, Clair and Gary Deveraux, Sara and Troy Jentzsch, James and Jessica Lawson, Jennifer Lawson, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

We love you Gran (Gma).

Tribute Wall for Moira H Lawson

  1. Greg and Janet says:

It saddens us to say goodbye to a beautiful soul with quirky sense of rumor and a mischievous smile. Your stories of life made us laugh and you always had a story to tell. You blessed our family with your son James when he married Jessica. We know how much you loved your family and we know how blessed they feel to have had you in their lives.
You will be missed, with love Greg and Janet

  2. CHARLOTTE FLEENOR says:

I loved this lady and was happy to share my family with hers. I enjoyed talking with her, and sharing the part of mother to her son Paul. Jim, and family, my prayers and love are with you and your family. I know she will be dearly missed. God bless and watch over you all. Love you all.

  3. Kate Riley says:

Never got to meet Moira but have enjoyed James and the gift he brought to our family when he married Jessica. I remember, too, the kindness Moira showed to my mother when she was getting ready to go to heaven. Sorry for your loss James, Jesse and all of Moira’s family. I hope the memories you made here sustain you in the coming months. One day you’ll be smiling and it will be because of a memory of something you shared with Moira. God’s blessings on all of you. Rod and Kate Riley

  4. Greg and Janet says:

I know Moira is laughing at me now with my mistake on my first attempt . But what I meant to say is (her quirky sense of humor not rumor) I am trying to laugh at myself like she would have done while telling this story..
    Love you Moira, Janet

  5. Nancy A Ruybal says:

It’s always sad when we loose a loved one, my heart goes out to those who feel this loss. There are never words to say to take the hurt away. When it’s a birthday we say happy birthday, we there is a graduation or wedding or birth we say congratulations but when we lose a loved one there are no words except I’m sorry, and somehow those words are not always healing or comforting so I ay this… Happy Birthday Moria as you are reborn in heaven, Congratulations on your return home, your graduation from this life to life never ending. My love and my prayers are with your family and mine as we mourn, heal and celebrate the life of Moria Lawson.

Love you, Tom and Ruth Ann Chapman

We will miss Moira in the ward. She has been so dedicated to come each Sunday even though she had much pain for many years. She loved her family and her trips to Hawaii. Our heart goes out to Jim and Sarah and all the family. God bless you all. Love John and Gwen Smith
