Richard J. Fryer, Jr. was born and raised in Big Bear Lake, CA. He was educated at San Bernardino Valley College, San Bernardino, CA and College of Eastern Utah, Price, UT. He graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, Dallas, TX. Richard began his career in funeral service in February 1978 and has worked in California, Colorado, Utah, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Vermont. Richard has served in many capacities in furthering funeral service education including president of the Western Colorado Funeral Directors Association, Education committee member, Vision Committee member in Colorado, Coordinator of convalescing equipment for the elderly and hospice training instructor in northern Vermont, and an annual speaker of the Allied Health Program in northern New Hampshire. Richard returned to Utah in December 2011, working with Berg Mortuary in Provo before joining with Memorial Mortuaries in July 2015. Richard also worked with Mitchell Funeral Home in Price in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Richard married the lovely Kellie Ann Sorensen of Salt Lake City in 1982; they have 5 children and 7 grandchildren. They have lived in Sandy since 2011. Richard loves spending time with family and all outdoor activities.
