Alene Tett Lefler Curry Hadlock
1934 - 2026
Alene Tett Hadlock, age 91, passed away on March 19, 2026, in Farmington, Utah due to incidence of age and Dementia. Exactly 15 months, to the day, of the passing of her beloved husband, Tony.
She was born on December 8, 1934 in Tabiona, Utah, to Levere J Lefler and Essie Laraine Gines. She was welcomed by three older siblings; Flora, Ralph and Mart. Her parents later divorced. When her mother remarried, she was blessed with two more sisters; Billie and Yvonne (Jones.)
When Tett was 10 years old, her beloved father, Levere, died. She said he was her protector and hero; his death left a gap in her young soul that never healed. Life in Tabiona in the depression years was tough. Her older sister, Flora took her under her wing and did her best to provide the stability she craved.
She attended Tabiona high school and loved her time there as a cheerleader.
She married Edward M Curry on March 31, 1951. They were blessed with four children. Michael Edward (Verna), Matt Wayne, (Annie), Vida Laraine (Kip) and Wendell J (Debi). They later divorced.
Tett married her “Tony” (Anthony Hobbs Hadlock) April 5th, 1968 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Tony’s children, Kevin (Debi), Kathy and Kelly, are a treasured part of her blended family. They were later blessed with two more children of their own, Steele (Shelly) and Lark (Robbie). She mothered and loved us well.
Her life was her family.
She insisted everyone was fed and had a coat on when “she” was cold. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Even at the end of her life she recognized them.
She believed strongly in her faith, always accepting any call she was given. She served for five years as a Relief Society President and many years in various callings in the Primary in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served a church mission, with her husband in the Missouri/Kansas area; where they formed lifetime friendships and wonderful memories. Service came easy to her, she always wanted to be helpful.
She had a wicked sharp sense of humor and put up with much teasing from her children. She was an accomplished oil painting artist and wrote stories. She could recite many old time poems and songs. She sewed and was an excellent cook, loved to go camping in their trailer, being outside and going for walks.
Her young life was tough but she did not let those experiences make her angry or hopeless. She chose faith, family, empathy and compassion, sharing her love with family and friends.
She will be missed.
She is survived by her nine children and their spouses; 35 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren and her Brother-in-law, Ken Peck.
She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, one grandson, one great-grandson, all her siblings and her husband’s siblings. She was the last of a generation.
