In Loving Memory
Alfred Paul Martinez Sr
Alfred Paul Martinez Sr., born October 11, 1939 to Grace Martinez (06 28 1928-02 17 1947) & Joe “Tuffy” Martinez (03 16 1906-10 29 1999).
Alfred was granted access to the heavens on February 14, 2023 from natural causes. He was a strong, kind hearted, sweet, loving, and generous man.
His quick sense of humor and sharp wisdom blessed everyone in his presence with memories that will never fade. More than just a man, he was a devoted husband, father; coach, brother, friend, and warrior for his country. He was a retired Army veteran of over 35 years. Growing up he took state in wrestling and even boxed in golden gloves winning a few titles before graduating to a life in marriage.
He married his wife, Lillian Martinez on June 27 1959 when he was just 19 years old. Through devotion, grit, love, and determination, they remained married to each other until his passing. Together they were blessed with 4 amazing children, and others that grew to call these doors home. Carolyn Martinez Gilson, Melissa Moise, Cathy Martinez, Alfred “BriskOne” Martinez Jr, Lee “Chance” McClure, Kandi Lynn Hyde, Ramie Shiotani, and Fernanda Perez. Alfred is survived and blessed with 17 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ray “EneeOne” Martinez, Alycia Lenhardt, Angelica Lenhardt, Frank Lenhardt Jr, Avery Gilson, Sasha Gilson, Jayden Eric Martinez, Sophia Martinez, Alexandria Linhart, Matix Martinez, Sadie Kaye McClure, Seren McClure, Anderson McClure, Elijah Martinez, Adelaide Lenhardt, Lillian Lenhardt, and Philip Lenhardt.
Al was motivated by his brothers and sisters Betty-June Gregory, Richard Martinez, Joe Martinez, Jr., Steve Martinez, Donna Ramos, Grace Gallegos, David “Bones” Martinez, Virgil Martinez, and Josephine Cookie Martinez. Never wealthy growing up but hard work proved that he was a rose that grew from concrete! He lived with grace, gratitude, and generosity; if there was a way to help you then he would figure it out!! Grandpa Al had a heart of gold that no jewelry could duplicate. He loved watching Jazz basketball along with the Utes!! We would always watch boxing and UFC together and debate the outcome of fights.

Miss Me*
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul that is set free!
Miss me a little, but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Oh, remember the love that we shared,
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must take it alone.
See, it’s all part of the Master’s Plan
A step in the road to Home.
