Alice Elaine Goff Nielsen

Alice Goff Nielsen, loving mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away at her home on October 27th. Born in Eureka, Utah on June 3, 1917 to George Elwood Goff and Lula Davis Goff then moved to Sandy, Utah where she was raised.

Graduated from Jordan High School and LDS Seminary in 1935 then attended Salt Lake Cosmetology School and became a beautician at Hotel Utah.

Married in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1937 to Hilton P. Nielsen. Later divorced.

A faithful member of the LDS Church that started teaching Jr. Sunday School at age 18. She was called to the Primary, Mutual, Junior Sunday School and Relief Society presidencies many times throughout her life. Moved to Holladay 30 years ago where she loved to tend to her roses and birds. She was grateful to have caring family members, friends, and care givers in her life.

She traveled often with her friends throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Always a good sport and when in her 70's and 80's, enjoyed riding Colossus at Lagoon and tubing at Soldier Hollow in Heber with her family holding on tight to her!

Survived by her son Dennis (Toi) , Son-in-law Eric Nystrom, Daughter-in-law, Georgia Nielsen, Grandsons, John (Heather) Nielsen, Adam (Lisa) Nielsen, Mark (Anne) Nielsen, James (Ingrid) Nystrom and Jeffery (Kimberly) Nystrom. Great Grand Children Alyssa, David and Daniel Nielsen; Sarah and Steven Nystrom; Ian, Lindsay and Alex Nielsen; Sidney Nystrom; Mary, Sam and Rose Nielsen. Preceded in death by her parents, daughter Marsha Nystrom, son Dale and sisters Goldie Evans, Grace Fluit and Fern Carteen. Private family service will be held on Saturday November 2nd, at Holbrook Mortuary.
