Allen Paul Gerritsen

February 23, 1955 — November 6, 2013

A loving husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother, friend, and favorite uncle returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday November 6, 2013, age 58, in the comfort of his home after many years of health struggles.

Allen Paul Gerritsen was born in SLC, Utah to Adrian Gerritsen and Anne Marie James on February 23, 1955. He was sealed to his best friend and sweetheart Juli Anne Fullmer in 1977. He was proud of his Norweigian heritage, working as Hospital Administrator for IHC, being a father, husband, son, and grandfather.

His wife, children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and enjoyed every moment he spent with them. He had many gifts including researching family history, gardening, a sense of humor and strength. He was an inspiration to all. He loved serving others in all aspects: church service, family, and friends. We will miss his positive outlook, creativity, humor and sincere love for everyone.

We want to thank Allen's doctors and many health care providers along with friends and family that helped him over the years. The support and love felt was comforting and appreciated.

He was preceded in death by his dads, Adrian Gerritsen and Elmer James and his Grandparents. He is survived by his wife Juli Anne Gerritsen, children Amber (Del), Andrew, Jill (Matthew), Mindy and grandchildren Jaden and Ella, his mother Anne Marie James, brothers John (Janice), Bryan (Becky), Richard (Betty), and sisters Carol (Terry), Nancy, Juli's parents, Clem and Donna, Juli's siblings Greg (Marcia), John (Patty), Jim (Stephanie) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00am at the East Mill Creek Stake Center, 3103 East Craig Drive (3600 South). Friends and family can visit Friday evening 6:00-8:00pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church Saturday morning 9:00-9:30am prior to the service. Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
