Alma Kay Iverson

Alma Kay Iverson, age 87, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2022, at his home in Tooele, Utah. He was born on October 19, 1934 in Kanosh, Utah, to Hyrum and Ruby Iverson.
Alma loved playing football for Millard High School, while helping them to win 3 state championships. He also enjoyed learning to play the trumpet there. Later in life, he loved spending time making sling shots, out of the branches of trees. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and passed the love for those and other outdoor activities on to his children.
Alma met Denza, his future wife, at the Tooele Army Depot. They were married in Salt Lake City, on August 19, 1955. His employment with the Department of Defense allowed him to travel quite extensively. In fact, just about every two years, he and the family were transferred to a different place in the world. Germany, Thailand, and Korea were their favorites. This also led him and Denza to develop a passion for collecting antiques – especially German clocks. After he retired, he spent most of his time participating in the activities held at the Tooele Senior Center. He especially loved dancing there, with Denza.
He is survived by his two daughters: Sukey (Mitch) Jephson and Dolly (DeLynn) Hansen, and his 3 sons: Klint (Debra) Iverson, Glen Iverson, and Dennis Iverson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers and three sisters, one grandchild, and his wife Denza. Viewing will be held on October 10, 2022 from 10:30 am – 11:30 am, at Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries on 6500 South Redwood Road. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 am.
Interment will be at Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries on 6500 South Redwood Road.
In lieu of flowers, Kay would be honored by donations made to “The Marvelous Work and a Wonder Purpose Trust” at any Wells Fargo Bank.Service Information
