Alvhild Vinje Hammer

Alvhild was born in Trondheim, Norway on Jan 15, 1916. Her parents were Axel and Laura Vinje. She immigrated to America in 1949 with her family and settled in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her husband Sverre H. Hammer preceded her in death in 1975.

She is survived by her children, daughter Anne (Robert) Guymon; sons Stig (Diane) Hammer, and Hans (Ruth) Hammer; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandson.

Mom was a fun loving and very caring grandmother. She will be missed for all of her Norwegian baked goods and her knitting and handmade work. Mom was a very faithful member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many positions.

Services will be held Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, SLC, where friends and family can visit from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
