Andrew Douglas Bandis

Andrew Douglas Bandis passed away on December 31, 2023 at the age of 93. He was born on October 1, 1930 in San Diego, California to Andrew and Elinore Bandis and grew up an only child.

Doug married Mary Lou Bagwell on May 1, 1958 and welcomed two children; Theresa and Steve. They were married for 44 years before Mary passed away in 2002.

Doug served in the US Navy in the Seabees Construction Battalion and was a long standing member of the American Legion. He was a plumber for Fred A. Heibron Plumbing in San Diego and drove a truck for Santa Fe Energy in the Uintah Basin.

He lived in multiple places over the years but ended up in Duchesne, Utah where he met Bonnie, the two of them were married on August 29, 2005. They later moved to the Salt Lake valley and lived there for the remainder of their lives.

Doug was a good friend to anyone who knew him. He was kind and thoughtful of others which made him popular anywhere he went. He will truly be missed.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Elinore Bandis, Mary Lou Bandis (Wife), Bonnie Bandis (Wife), Steve Bandis (Son) and Nathan Bandis (Grandson).

He is survived by his daughter Theresa (John) Marti, his daughter-in-law Debbie Bandis, his grandkids, Rhiannon (Andy) McCallister, Danny (Kasey) Bandis, Chad (Abbie) Bandis, Adam (Morgan) Bandis and 7 great grandchildren.

Our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Legacy Retirement, Superior Hospice, and Legacy House for the great care and love they administered to Doug this past year.

Funeral Services for Doug will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East Bengal Blvd (7800 South). A Viewing will be held at the Mortuary from 5:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery at later date.
