Andy Victor Nelson

Andy Victor Nelson, 69, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 25, 1957, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to LaReida Bolin and William Nelson.

Andy proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Light Wheel Mechanic from 1975 to 1978. He married the love of his life, Susan Mascarenaz, on November 24, 1979.

He found joy in life’s simple moments–time with family, fishing across Utah’s lakes, camping, and taking road trips with his beloved wife. Together, they truly went everywhere. Andy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Nelson; his step-daughters, Yvette (Danny), Natalie (Mel), and Stephanie; his grandchildren Mandy (Travis), Melissa, Aubrey (Alex), Ashley (Michelle), Oscar, and MaCayla; his great-grandchildren Braden, Lily, and Keegan; and his siblings, Billie (Randy), Fred (Marnel) and Tess.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Nelson, LaReida, and Fred Garrett, and his granddaughter, Amanda Littleford.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Interment following service at Memorial Redwood Cemetery at the same address.  A light luncheon will follow.
