Ann E. Burchett Coy

Ann E Burchett Coy, age 90, died on November 17, 2023, in Holladay, Utah of natural causes.  She was born on February 21, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Reed and Lorna Eldredge.  She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Growing up, Ann had many fond memories of traveling between Salt Lake City and Canada with her family, she developed a love for music and all things outdoors including skiing, hiking, and a love for animals.  In her adult life she was most always seen in the good company of one of her loyal yellow Labrador retrievers.  

She attended the University of Utah and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.  Her love of travel and adventure led her to becoming a stewardess for Pan American Airlines where she enjoyed working and living in many places around the world, including Guam and Hong Kong.

Music and art were a significant aspect of Ann’s life, and she served continually in various capacities playing the piano in church callings and accompanying vocalists through her mid 80’s.  All who knew Ann were very familiar with her wonderful gift of cooking, especially around Christmas time.  Her friends and neighbors were frequent recipients of her many delicious cakes.  Ann spent many hours caring for her garden, nurturing her tomato plants and beautiful flowers and often could be found there on summer nights after the heat of the day had passed.  Her famous tomato sauce and many other recipes live on through her family.  Ann’s greatest joy in life was being with her children and grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her husband Dean, sister, Joan, brother, Steve (Yoshie), and sons John (Alison) and Steve (Emily), 6 grandchildren – Katherine, William, James, Mary, Victoria, and Timothy, and 3 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her mother and father.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 29, at 11:00AM at the Gundersen Lane LDS chapel, 1925 East Gundersen Lane, (4101 S) Holladay, Utah, with a viewing at 10:00AM.  A private interment will follow at Memorial Holladay Cemetery.
