Ann Stoddard Reese, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, age 88, passed away Monday March 1, 2010 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ann was born November 30, 1921 in La Grande, Oregon, the daughter of Alexander Lester and Blanche Black Stoddard. Married Lester G. Reese, January 11, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was preceded in death by her eternal companion. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She served as ward Relief Society president 4 different times in Texas, Kansas and Salt Lake. She served on the General Board of the Relief Society for 13 years and as second counselor to Barbara B. Smith, General Relief Society President.
One of her greatest joys was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Quilting was a lifelong love learned from her mother. Many people were blessed by the fruits of her labor.
Survived by her children, Linda (Jack) Linder, Bradley (Carolyn), Jeffrey (Eva), 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, brother Phil Stoddard, and 2 sisters, Sue Stevens and Judy McConkie.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 6, 2010, 12:00 noon, at the Mt. Olympus 9th Ward, 4635 Lanark Road (3315 East). Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Saturday morning from 10:45am to 11:45am prior to services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to the LDS church humanitarian fund. Online memories and tributes may be sent to the family at: www.holbrookmortuary.com
