Anna Colleen (Coke) Hammond Watts Dopkus

Anna Colleen (Coke) Hammond Watts Dopkus passed away March 31, 2009, with her family by her side. She was born July 12, 1929 to Leslie and Christina Whitehouse Hammond. Married David Watts Feb 1947, he passed away in 1986, married Kenneth Thelen 1987, he passed away in 1992. She met and married the blue eyed handsome man, David Dopkus in 1996. Mom and Dave loved to travel, shop and just be together.

Mom loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was happiest when they were all around, and always made sure everyone was taken care of. Colleen was a coordinator of Salt Lake AARP Widowed Persons Services (WPS). Her long time involvement with WPS touched countless lives of many widowed persons.

She is survived by her husband; children, Sherry (Rick) Wells, Cindy (Danny) McBride, Collette (Mike) McBride, Michiel Watts; stepson, Jeff (Annie) Dopkus; 8 grandsons; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers.

A gathering to celebrate her life, and friendships will be held Monday, April 6, 2009 at Pioneer Hall, 1137 West 7800 South, Midvale from noon to 3:00 p.m. Please no flowers or donations, give someone a hug or take them to lunch.
