Anneliese Klara (Hurst) Schumann

Anneliese Klara Hurst Schumann passed away peacefully on June 4, 2015 in Holladay, UT.  Anneliese was born Dec. 7, 1929 in Leipzig, Germany to John and Clara Hurst.

She married Siegfried Schumann on Dec. 20, 1951 in Wuppertal, Germany.  Marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on May 20, 1953.  It was Anneliese's dream to come to America for her religion, freedom, and opportunities.

Anneliese enjoyed snow and water skiing.  She was an excellent cook, sharing many wonderful German recipes.  She loved gardening.  She collected ladybugs, garden gnomes, mushrooms and Hummel Figurines.  She had a love for music and a great talent for playing the piano and organ.  One of her highlights was playing the pipe organ in the Tabernacle.  She loved studying the gospel and had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.

She loved spending time with her family.  Survived by: husband Siegfried, three children, Evelyn Stallings (Don), Ralph (Christine), Harry (Jana), 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by parents and brother Rolf.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m., Winder 8th Ward (1361 E 4000 S, SLC).  A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 9th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Holbrook Mortuary (2300 E 3251 S) and from 10:00-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday before the funeral services at the ward.  Interment at Mountain View Memorial Estates (3115 E 7800 S).  Messages and tributes to the family can be sent to www.holbrookmortuary.com.
