Annie Dilla Apodaca October 8, 1936 – September 23, 2025
Annie Dilla Apodaca, beloved and dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and resilience. Born on October 8, 1936, in Del Norte, Colorado, to Ben and Rumalda Martinez, Annie’s life was a vibrant tapestry woven with compassion, adventure, and devotion to family.
On August 22, 1970, Annie married Daniel Apodaca, beginning a journey filled with shared joys and enduring partnership. Annie’s passions were as colorful as her spirit—she found joy in art (painting, sketching, and crafting), fishing, hiking, rock hunting, and spending time outdoors. Her love for nature was matched only by her love for family, with whom she shared countless cherished moments.
Annie’s professional life reflected her versatility and dedication. She worked as a hair stylist, certified nurse assistant, reupholstered furniture with skill and care, and served as a hospitality manager for Intermountain Health for many years. Her work touched lives and brought comfort to many.
She is survived by her children: Debra (Scotty) Richards, Diane (Larry) Perchez, Mark Dudney, Sheryl Fry, Judy Coray, and Lorretta (Jason) Thornwall; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Also, her remaining sisters Casilda Bauer, Mary Tidwell, and Andrea Stockfish. Her love and wisdom will live on through each of them.
Annie was preceded in death by her daughter Peggy Medina; Daniel Apodaca; her parents Ben and Rumalda Martinez; her sisters Nikki Bauer, Elizabeth Martin, Esther Clark, Helen Valdez; and her brothers Alex Martinez & Lloyd Martinez.
A viewing and funeral service will be held on September 28, 2025, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road. The viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery at the same address.
Annie’s warmth, strength, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
