Ardell Griffeth Archibald

Our loving mother, grandmother, and friend Ardell Griffeth Archibald, passed away peacefully Jan 11, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 85. She was born in Fairview, Idaho, the oldest of Arden "Ben" & Wilma Griffeth's four children.

She met Leroy Alder Archibald in Dayton Idaho. They got to know each other while in a 3-act play. They were married in the Logan, Utah Temple in 1949 and lived in Idaho until 1956 when they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was quite a tom-boy, loved hiking and outdoor activities. The skills she learned in early life helped her with many callings and years in Scouting. She received the Scouting Award of Merit for outstanding service.

She loved her family. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and genealogy. She served in many church callings including two missions with her husband, the first to New York and the second to Argentina. She also served many years in the Salt Lake Temple, and about 9 A
