 In Memoriam: Arthur Francis Saunders

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur Francis Saunders, a man whose infectious smile could light up any room.

Artie had an unyielding love for music, motorcycles, and family. Music was not just a hobby for Artie; it was a part of his soul. He also found solace and exhilaration in the revving engines of motorcycles. Whether cruising down highways or exploring the winding paths less traveled, Artie embraced the freedom that two wheels afforded him.

Artie is survived by his beloved fiancé, Isela Lopez, his stepchildren, Aroldo, Itati, and Alejandra, were recipients of his unwavering love and guidance. His biological children with former wife Patti, Shawn and Chelsie, carry forward his legacy with pride and love. The step-grandchildren, Alexzander, Aaliyah, Ariel, Avayah, Titan, and Hiromi, and his biological grandchildren, Lina and True.

Artie was an artist, mechanic, and engineer, a man who possessed the remarkable ability to teach himself anything he set his mind to. His ingenuity and determination were evident in every project he undertook.

In honoring Artie’s love for music, let us remember him through the words of Arlo Guthrie, "I don't want a pickle, just want to ride my motorsickle." These lyrics encapsulate the spirit of a man who valued the simple pleasures in life and found joy in the pursuit of his passions.

As we bid farewell to Arthur Francis Saunders, let us celebrate a life well-lived—a life that left an imprint on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. May his spirit ride on, like the wind on an open road, forever free.  Rest in peace, Artie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
