Arvella “Val” Gallegos

July 5, 1950 — May 2, 2023

An angel was born on July 5, 1950, in Dragerton, Utah to Isabel Lujan and Jose Amador Marquez. While she was surrounded by her loved ones, that angel, Arvella “Val” Gallegos, was reunited with the love of her life, Gary and gained her wings at the age of 72 on May 2, 2023.
Arvella graduated from East Carbon High in 1969. On May 17, 1975, she married Gary Gallegos in Carbon County, Utah. Val was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed being outside in her yard gardening, going to the mountains for picnics, and being with all her family and friends. Her summers were full of car shows and trips to Wendover. Whatever she was doing it included listening to her oldies music.
Working with children was her passion that led to teaching. She retired as a teacher at Head Start.
As a devoted mother, she enjoyed cooking and passing down her recipes.
Surviving Val are her daughter, Sheri Gallegos (Richard Hernandez); sons: Gary Gallegos, David (Sammie) Gallegos, and Anthony (Rachel) Gallegos; eleven grandchildren: Alexia Gallegos, Marcus Gallegos, Ariana Gallegos, Isaac Gallegos, Sallyse Gallegos, Kira Gallegos, Devynn Gallegos, Katelyn Gallegos, Stella Gallegos, Zaylee Gallegos, and Sally Gallegos; two great grandchildren, Noah Toki and Kehlani Toki; sister, Margie Sanchez; brother, Michael (Teri) Marquez; along with many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Gallegos; sister, Alice Martinez; brothers: Paul Marquez, Max Aragon, and Virgil Marquez; along with many other loved ones.
