Atalina "Lina" Trudy Tua

June 2, 1979 — May 15, 2026

Salt Lake City

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved sister, mother, and aunt, Atalina “Lina” Trudy Slade Tua. Lina was born on June 2, 1979, in Moto’otua, Apia, Samoa, to Nu’ufaiga Su’emalo Filoilefiti Slade and Lealofioana Aiono Slade. In the late 1980s, with a dream in his heart, Filoilefiti brought his growing family to America.

Lina attended Hillsdale Elementary and West Lake Junior High, and graduated from Copper Hills High School. She married her best friend, Telly Tua, in October 1999. Together they raised three children: Lealofioana Divine Tua (26), Telly Filoilefiti Apelu Tua (23), and Chloe Keikilani Tua (13). Lina’s greatest joy was raising her children and supporting their dreams; her legacy lives on through them.

Lina loved the lake and the pool, glamping, and spending time with family. She delighted in watching Chloe perform Samoan cultural dances and in making performance outfits with Lofi. Her favorite TV shows included The Office, The Big Bang Theory, Friends, Modern Family, and Abbott Elementary. She enjoyed board and card games—Spades, Phase 10, and Nertz among them—and her favorite drink was watermelon otai. She loved Korean hotpot, seafood boils and anything shellfish-related, and she listened to Samoan music, reggae, country, and ’90s R&B. Her favorite colors were purple, green, orange, and yellow.

Lina co-owned Patriot Track & Tire with Chad Jaquith, serving as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Established in August 2022, Patriot Track & Tire is a distribution center and importer of construction consumables, including rubber tracks, tires (solid, pneumatic, foam-filled for skid steers, forklifts, man-booms, telehandlers, and more), ground-engaging tools, bristles and tube brooms for sweepers and trucks, and various shop supplies.

She was preceded in death by her father, Suemalo Filoilefiti Slade, and her siblings Molia Slade and Enesi Slade. She is survived by her loving mother, Lealofioana Aiono Slade; her husband, and her three children.
