In Loving Memory of Barbara Ann Hansen
January 25, 1949 - August 26, 2025
Barbara Ann Hansen, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, in St. George, Utah, at the age of 76.
Born on January 25, 1949, in Park City, Utah, Barbara was the cherished daughter of Howard and Shirley Snow. She spent her early years in Park City, UT and later in Kearns, UT.
Barbara's life was marked by resilience, warmth, and creativity. In 1965, she married George Sanchez, and together they welcomed two sons. Though their paths later diverged, Barbara remained a devoted mother. She later married Lowell Hansen in 1976, with whom she expanded her family, adding another son and a daughter. Though this marriage also ended in divorce, Barbara's commitment to her children never wavered.
Barbara found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a special fondness for the mountains, especially Emerald Lake on Ferron Mountain. Some of her fondest memories were taking weekend rides upon the mountain or out rock hunting on the desert. Her passion for gardening and crafting reflected her nurturing spirit and artistic soul.
A true socialite, Barbara was known for her vibrant personality and wide circle of friends. She worked tirelessly to become a licensed cosmetologist and proudly fulfilled her dream of opening her own salon, Barb's Hair Designs, where she touched many lives with her talent and kindness.
Barbara's greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her children Marc (Wendy) Sanchez of Grantsville, UT; Brandon (Cindy) Sanchez of Grace, ID; Bret (Korie) Hansen of Sidney, MT; and Rashell Hansen of Price, UT. She was a devoted grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her sisters: Phyllis Marshall, Sandra Carter, and Carol Mostellar.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Shirley Snow; her brothers, Harold Snow, Terry Snow and Kevin Snow, sister Pamela Snow; and her beloved granddaughter, Samantha Sanchez.
Barbara's legacy is one of love, strength, and generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
