Barbara Allison Greer (90) of Sandy, Utah, passed away peacefully at her home on June 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Barbara was born as Barbara Diane Allison in Seattle, Washington, to Clint Allison and Helen Allison (Helen Carter). She grew up in Seattle, graduated from Lincoln Highschool (1954) and attended the University of Washington, where she studied nursing. Barbara often joked that the real reason she went to nursing school was to obtain her “Mrs. Degree” to meet her future husband, a story she enjoyed shared with her family.
She married Robert Greer M.D., and together they built a family that became the center of her life. While she began her education in nursing, Barbara devoted her life to caring for her family, a role she embraced wholeheartedly and considered her most important occupation.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Andrea Love (64) and son Michael Greer (53) and his wife Angie Greer (49), grandchildren James Love (45) and his wife Danielle Camara (45), Alea Greer (21), Miles Greer (20), Liam Greer (13), Ella Greer (9), and great-grandson Neo Love (7). Barbara is preceded by her husband Robert Greer M.D., son Bruce Greer, daughter Colleen Greer, and son-in-law Kevin Love. Barbara treasured a lifelong friendship with her valued friend, Pat White.
Barbara found joy in various hobbies and interests throughout her life, but most of all she enjoyed being there for her family. She loved cooking by starting her day by asking “what should we make for dinner” as she started the morning coffee pot. She enjoyed being active with such activities as pottery, bowling, canoeing, camping, gardening, teaching her kids how to ski and sew, as well as watching MASH, Murder She Wrote, The X-Files, and sports with her husband. She also loved going to the movies, talking during movies, and sharing those experiences with loved ones. Barbara possessed the most incredible heart of gold and sweetest sense of humor, which made everyone around her feel welcomed, loved, and valued.
More than anything, Barbara loved her family and the little moments that she had with her kids. Her kindness, generosity, understanding, and unconditional love touched countless lives. She leaves behind a family who was enriched by her love and the lessons of life she gifted.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the fortune to know her. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so dearly.
