Barbara Jean Hazen Wood

Barbara Jean Hazen Wood, 78, dear wife, mother, grandmother and best friend, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 after an extended illness.

Born December 8, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to Robert and Sadie Catmull Hazen. Graduated Ogden High School in 1949. Married her high school sweetheart, Douglas J Wood, that same year on September 21st in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They shared over 60 happy years together.

Barbara lived a life of love and service and was a great example to all. She was deeply devoted to her family, and they loved her dearly. Each and every one was precious to her. Her greatest joy was being with them.

Barbara was fun-loving, cheerful and a friend to all. She always had a listening ear. She overcame many challenges in her life with a positive attitude. Her strong faith was an anchor to others. She provided service in many callings, including teacher, scout leader and young women president.
