Barbara J Laymon

April 10, 1935 — September 15, 2025

Kaysville

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara J. Laymon, born on April 10, 1935, in Park City, Utah, who left us on September 15, 2025. A resilient survivor and a woman of strength, Barbara touched the lives of everyone she knew with her warmth, humor, and unwavering love.

Barbara was a woman who loved to dance, especially swing dancing at the Westerner —where she met Donald, the love of her life. As an avid bowler she spent Tuesday nights trying to get as many strikes as possible. She enjoyed playing cards, games, Canasta and Yahtzee were some favorites. She loved flowers and always appreciated their beauty.

Known for her impeccable cleanliness and sense of humor, she had a way of brightening every room, often joking with doctors and nurses during her healthcare visits. She loved buying gifts for loved ones, that brought her so much joy.

A hardworking woman, Barbara dedicated herself to her sibling’s family business, working at Millies and Briggs Ranch House. She was a devoted mother to her four children, Keith W. Bates (Denise), Randy L Bates (Leslie), Cindy Bertolina (John), DeAnna Robbins (Scott). and a very proud grandmother of 11 Grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than the little great grandchildren.

In October 1980, she married Donald O. Laymon, and together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter and adventures. Whether it was trips to Wendover to enjoy the slot machines or simply going out to dinner with friends & family.

Proceeded in death by parents Harold & Lola Johnson, sister Carol Weaver, sister Marlene Miller, sister Yvonne Murnin and brother Arlen Johnson.

Family wishes to thank CNS hospice, the nurses, Laura Harwood and Victoria for their loving care. Also thank you to Bonnie with Care.com who brightened mom’s day every Thursday.

Barbara's legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren, who will always remember her resilience, humor, and boundless love. She will be dearly missed but forever cherished.
