Barbara Crouch London passed away peacefully August 19, 2009 in Sandy, Utah and was able to finally free herself from the frustrating effects of Dementia and Parkinson's Disease. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many and spent her life in the service of others. Barbara was born July 25, 1919 in Lost Creek, Morgan County, Utah to Ernest Melvin and Rachel "Fannie" Cox Crouch. She was raised on the family ranch and often spoke fondly of the many childhood memories she had with her sisters and brother. She attended school in Devil Slide and Morgan where she was involved in many extracurricular activities.
Mom married the love of her life, Delbert Toone London, on October 10, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Salt Lake their entire married life except for one-year shortly after their marriage in San Leandro, California. Dad passed away on March 7, 2008. They spent most of married life living in their home in Canyon Rim and cherished the good friends and neighbors they had. Mom was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in the Young Women's, Primary, and Sunday School organizations. Her fondest callings involved different opportunities of service within the Relief Society organization. Mom's love for Relief Society seemed to come from watching her own mother's devotion, love and dedication, and truly adhered to its motto of "Charity Never Faileth" throughout her life. Mom spent her entire life serving others whether it be taking in a meal to someone in need, making a quilt for a new baby or bride, or doting on her family.
Mom is survived by five children, Terry (Jeanine) London, Salt Lake, Jon (Sherri) London, Salt Lake, Scott London, Farmington, Debara (James) Child, Holladay and Shane (Robyne) London, Sandy and her daughter-in-law Lynette London of Porterville. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and her sister, Colleen Mecham of Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Larry, sister Faye London and brother Wayne Crouch.
We would like to thank the staff at Silverado Hospice and The Wentworth at Willow Creek, especially those in The Stratford, for the love, care and concern they have provided Mom.
