Barbara Jeanne Ricks McCullough passed away peacefully in her home on October 17, 2025. She was born on January 18, 1948, in Pocatello, Idaho (Bannock County). She was the daughter of Kenneth M. Ricks and Dorothy Jeanne Armstrong. After her parents’ divorce, she was raised, cared for, and loved by Kenneth and Myra Dawn Oviatt Ricks. Barbara graduated from Cyprus High School Class of 1966. She later attended Salt Lake Community College, where she continued to work until her retirement.
Barbara married Ronald William McCullough in August of 1968. Together they raised a family of four children. Barbara was later divorced.
Barbara was a devoted and a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She found great joy in serving her Heavenly Father and fulfilled many callings with faithfulness and love throughout the years.
Barbara was fiercely guarded by her children, Jennifer (Justin) Powell, of Kanab, Utah, and Kalli (Jeremy) Parry, of Green River, Wyoming. She was affectionately named “Grandma Barb” by most of her family and friends. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. She is also survived by her sister’s Debra (Larry) Drysdale, Kathleen (Greg) Beecher, and brother Martin (Sherri) Ricks. She is preceded in death by her parents, sibling Karen Ann Ricks Burkman, and sons Michael and Jason McCullough.
The dash between January 18, 1948 - October 17, 2025, encompasses the life of a deeply cherished sweet soul. We won’t forget someone who gave us so much to remember.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. You may visit with the family at a viewing prior to services from 9:00 to 10:45 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary at the same address.
