Bertha Mitchell Dunn

Bertha Mitchell Dunn, born August 17, 1920, in Cache Junction, Utah to Milton Reuben Mitchell and Helene Behnken Mitchell completed her mortal existence January 31, 2015 peacefully attended by her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings:  Milton R. Mitchell, Jr., Helene M. Robertson (James H.), Theresa Mitchell, and Anne M. Heath (Richard).  She is survived by her husband (John Alden) of 75 years and daughters, Connie D. Peterson (David W.) and Cora D. Bowen (Joseph L.); 9 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was reared in Cache County and attended Logan High School.  She and John were married in the Logan Utah Temple in 1939 and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1942. While John served in the U.S. Navy in World War II Bertha single-handedly worked and cared for their family. She was active in the LDS church and bloomed in every organization.  She was always looking to help, encourage, and beautify.  She could refashion anything.

She and John served a mission to the Dakota's and in the Salt Lake Temple for many years. Together they enjoyed, dancing, camping, traveling, golfing, dining out, supporting their posterity and having parties. Bertha was a pistol.  Her frank and sweet spirit of 95 years will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 6 at 11:00 am in the Highland Park Ward house at 2535 S. Douglas St. (1240 E.) Salt Lake City, Utah.  Friends and family can visit Thursday evening at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm and at the church Friday morning 9:30-10:30 am prior to services.
