Bessie Louisa Rowser Warr, age 90, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma, great-great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Bessie was born on January 8, 1935, in Henefer, Utah, to her parents, Samuel and Irene Rowser.
On February 9, 1957, Bessie married the love of her life, Allen Warr, in her hometown of Henefer. Later, they built a nice home in West Valley City, Utah, where they raised their 4 children: Wes, Kathy, Shauna, and LeAnn.
Bessie was a member of the LDS church, and in her younger years, she was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, which inspired her to research her family’s genealogy. Bessie had a few different job titles and thoroughly enjoyed being a secretary at the Children’s Museum of Utah.
Bessie was adventurous and lived a good life. She was an avid bowler and bowled on leagues for many years. In her earlier years, she bowled with her husband, Allen, son Wes, daughter-in-law Darla, along with many other family members and friends. Later, she bowled regularly with her daughters, LeAnn and Kathy. She traveled yearly to many states and bowled in league tournaments, also with her daughters and friends. Remarkably, at the age of 90, Bessie bowled in a tournament in Las Vegas in May of 2025. Bessie joined her friends weekly to have a fun day playing card games and sharing stories. She thoroughly enjoyed going to the Utah Jazz basketball games with her daughter, LeAnn, and always hoped for a win. Bessie took great pride in her yard and had the most beautiful flower gardens. Bessie was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley. She had a love for his music and collecting memorabilia. Bessie’s main love and joy was her family and getting together for family gatherings and family reunions, which brought her great joy. She was always on top of her Christmas list and made sure each and every grandchild had a nice gift to open at her annual family Christmas party.
Bessie is survived by 3 of her children, Wes Warr (Darla), Kathy Cutler, and Shauna Armijo; 7 grandchildren, Wesley, Landen, Denise, Kody, Tina, Katie, Rusty, and their spouses; 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Bruce Rowser.
Bessie is preceded in death by her husband Allen Warr, daughter LeAnn Warr, brother Bob Rowser, and parents Samuel and Irene Rowser.
Bessie’s presence and kind, loving, generous heart will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her. Her memories and legacy will live on in all of us. Rest in comfort and peace, Bessie, till we meet again.
