Beth Magleby Love

May 28, 1922 — July 6, 2014

Beth (Bette) Love was born May 28, 1922, the eighth and youngest child of Parley and Elizabeth Magleby. She grew up in Richfield, Utah until graduation from High School when she moved with her widowed mother to Salt Lake City. In 1943 she enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. where she was stationed in Milwaukee and then San Francisco until the end of the war. The following summer she met Donald E. Love at a dance festival at Salt Air. They were married on August 10, 1946 and made their home in East Millcreek. Together they worked to build a jewelry business with a store located on Main Street in Salt Lake City, naming it "Loves Diamonds". Don passed away in 1986.

They were blessed with 3 children, D. Scott Love (Donna), Carol Love Young (Kimball) and Janet Love (Doug Taylor), 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. 8 more grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren have joined our family.

Bette continued a close relationship with her brothers and sisters, often gathering with them for long Sunday nights of canasta and dummy rummy. She loved to garden and was an excellent seamstress. She was a champion bowler and enjoyed weekly games of golf with the girls.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Clifford Magleby, Ina Magleby, Floreen Rands, Roscoe Magleby, Ruby Blake, Arlo "Jim" Magleby and Carma "Mick" Cabral. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Lois Wright, nephew Doug Wright and his family and many nieces and nephews.

We will miss her very much, but we know there is a grand reunion with all of those who have been looking forward to seeing her again. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive. Services under the care of Holbrook Mortuary.
