Bethellen Blood Baldwin

October 22, 1950 — July 21, 2023

Bethellen Blood Baldwin “Beth” was born in Ogden to Paul Barlow Blood and Faye Nelson Blood. She attended Bolton Elementary, South Davis Junior High, and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1968. Some of her favorite pastimes as a child included playing with her dolls, listening to vinyl 78s, and sleigh-riding with hot chocolate, as well as school dances with her friends.
In April of 1968, she met Ross Lee Baldwin on a blind date and they later married on the 15th of November 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They moved into their first home in Bountiful. During this time, she received her certificate in Cosmetology from Bountiful College of Beauty and attended courses at LDS Business College. Ross and Beth had six children, Kristin, Robert, Jennifer, Tracie, Richard, and Russell. They lived in Granger, Utah, Aptos, California, and Sandy, Utah. After their marriage ended in 2000, Beth continued to make her home in Sandy, Utah.
Beth faced many challenges in her life. One of these challenges was being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2017. She fought valiantly against the cancer, enduring various treatments and surgery, and was able to ring the bell in March of 2018 signaling that she was cancer free.
Beth was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was thrilled to serve as a temple worker at the Draper Utah Temple. She made sure to schedule her knee replacement surgery around the temple cleaning closure to make sure that she would miss as few weeks as possible.
Beth had a love of sewing and crafts. She began sewing at a very young age. Throughout her high school years, she sewed her own clothes. She made her own wedding dress and countless outfits for her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for so many outfits, quilts, dresses, and even costumes that she made over the years.
Beth was an amazing cook and used her culinary talents to bless all she knew. Every summer, she prepared the best strawberry jam in the whole wide world. She created amazing and fun menus for the many birthdays, showers, celebrations, and parties she would host for those she loved.
She enjoyed traveling and spent many vacations around the world, but with a special love for Cancun, Mexico. Locations she visited include: Scotland, Greece, Turkey, England, Germany, Austria, and various locations around the United States. Her favorite trips involved traveling with or to visit her children. She had hopes of someday visiting Africa and Australia.
Beth loved being a grandma and currently has twenty-one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She threw several parties each year and hosted multiple craft days giving her grandchildren opportunities for fun shared experiences and mementos of their time together.
Beth passed away unexpectedly following a recent knee surgery. Beth is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Faye Blood, as well as her sister Janene, her son-in-law, Paris D. Brown, and grandson Dylan Jackson. She is survived by her daughters Kristin Peterson (Quintin), Jennifer Scott (Gary), and Tracie Baldwin Brown (Paris); her sons Robert (Maxine), Richard (Charisse), and Russell (Mikelle); a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings William Christopher Montgomery, Byron Blood, and Rebekah Wing.
