Bettie passed away October 17, 2016 due to complications related to pancreatic cancer. She was born October 14, 1929 in Lake Elsinore, CA to Herbert and Roxie McGuire and moved to Fontana, CA as a child and resided there through high school. Bettie attended BYU graduating in 1952 and taught elementary school for many years in California and later in Utah. While at BYU Bettie met and later married Virgil Camp in the St. George Temple. They had six children and settled in the Holladay area after moving from Southern California in 1971. They divorced in 1982.
Bettie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings. One of the highlights of her life was serving as a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for fifteen years traveling the world and singing at the inauguration of Presidents Reagan and Bush Sr.
She was preceded in death by her son Jeff and her sister Pat. She is survived by her brother Stanton and her children Leslie, Larry (Judy), Kerin (Tracy), Ron (Debbie) and Barb (Cindi) as well as 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2nd at 11:00am at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends and family are invited to visit Tuesday evening 6-8pm and Wednesday morning 9:45-10:45am prior to the service.
