Magna

Betty Lee Hinkle, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully in Magna, Utah, on January 18, 2024. She was 87 years old.

Betty was born in Caroline County, Virginia, on November 5, 1936, to John and Eva Toombs. On July 21, 1955, she married the love of her life, Harold Hinkle. Betty was Harold’s angel and she blessed him with 8 more angels.

The family relocated to the Salt Lake City area in the late 1960s, and Betty made her home in Magna for the past 39 years. Her greatest joy was her family, and she devoted herself tirelessly to loving and caring for her children and grandchildren. In her younger years, Betty enjoyed playing softball and volleyball with family and friends. Throughout her life, she cherished family gatherings, eagerly anticipating barbecues, holidays, and any opportunity to spend time with those she held dear.

Betty is survived by her eight children: Terri (Robert) Rodriguez of Austin, TX; Dennis (Theresa) Hinkle of Lehi, UT; Wanda Bravo of Magna, UT; Tina (Jesse) Wing of Wickenburg, AZ; Patrick (Jessica) Hinkle of Tooele, UT; Beverley Powers of West Valley City, UT; Bruce (Anneliese) Hinkle of West Valley City, UT; and Denise Jensen of Salt Lake City, UT. She also leaves behind 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister, Joan (Glenroy) Green of Spotsylvania, VA. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Harold, her son-in-law Randy Powers, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters.
