Betty Jane Marks Coulter

April 19, 1924 — September 20, 2010

Betty Jane Marks Coulter, beloved wife and mother, passed away September 20, 2010. Born in the Oak Park area of Chicago Illinois in 1924, Betty was an adventuresome spirit. She joined the war effort right after high school and while in Germany she met Robert Coulter of Cambridge, Massachusetts and married him in 1947 in Hanau Germany.

Together they traveled the world, courtesy of the US Army. After Bob retired from the army they made their home in Phoenix Arizona for 42 years. Betty liked shopping, Mexican food and showing off her great memory. She loved being "Grandma Bump-Bump".

Betty is survived by children Richard (Pat), Robert (Becky), Larry (Janice), Bruce (Karin) and Carolyn, grandsons Chris, Kevin, Travis, granddaughter Hayden (her "Sunshine"), great-granddaughter Kayleigh, and by sisters Dorothy Walsh, Audrey Hawkinson, and Nancy Riley. She was preceded in death by husband Robert and brother Richard Marks.

No services are planned however Betty will be interned at Arlington National Cemetery in the spring.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Millcreek Retirement especially Jill, George and Liliana. Thanks also to the staff of CareSource Hospice for their attentive thoughtful care.
