Betty Lucille Taylor Astin, 86, passed away peacefully October 7, 2008 after a long illness. Mother was born July 19, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Elliot Campbell Taylor and Mary Marian ("Mamie") Walker Taylor. She grew up in Salt Lake City, graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. She married John LaVar Astin on June 10, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mother loved playing bridge, visiting her neighbors, golfing, bowling, and watching U of U sports. Betty is survived by her daughters Sharon Astin, Johnny (Jeff) Pugh, and Laurie (Craig) Goodrich and her sons Ronald Astin and Marc (Cathy) Astin, ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren (with two more on the way). She was preceded in death by her loving husband John, her parents, brothers and sister, and her daughter-in-law Adele. We express our deepest appreciation to the entire staff of Silverado Senior Living and Lighthouse Hospice for their loving kindness, patience, and dedicated attention to mother's care.
