Betty Jewel Ulmer

Betty Jewel Ulmer passed away in the arms of her husband, Sunday, March 17, 2013 due to the persistent, vicious effects of Lou Gehrig's disease. She was born June 19, 1934 in Blanding, UT to Frank and Julia Allan. She attended and graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City and from the University of Utah. She married Donald Ulmer on August 23, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple and is survived by her adoring husband of 55 years, her four children, three big brothers, eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She spent her life inspiring and supporting her husband, and blessing the lives of her posterity and friends. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, filling responsibilities in every church auxiliary and serving as an ordinance worker with her husband in the Salt Lake Temple. She also sang for many years as a member of the Utah Symphony Chorus. She and her husband filled missions in Central City (Salt Lake) and Nauvoo, Illinois. Her full-time commitment, however, was to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and mostly (he believes) to her husband, who will cling to her memory as long as he lives.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Gunderson Lane LDS Chapel on 4101 S 1925 E. A viewing will be held Thursday evening, March 21, 2013 from 6 to 8:00 pm at the Holbrook Mortuary 3521 S 2300 E, Salt Lake City and at the church Friday prior to the services from 9:30 - 10:45 am.
