Our Sweet Angel Mother

Betty Logena Wallin Bailey was born January 12, 1927 in Pocatello, Idaho to Enoch August and Alma Logena Constance Jentzsch Wallin. Mother brought with her pieces of heaven in her heart and sunshine in her smile that she gave away throughout her life. She passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2010 on a day brightened by roses and sunshine.

Always an active member of the LDS church Mother married Robert (Bob) Amos Bailey on May 8, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple after waiting for him through World War II. They spent 62 years together building a home where mother was the heart, giving us the important things in life prior to dad's passing in 2009. Loving us all was her lifelong work.

She graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake City, UT and went to college years later, graduating Cum Laude from BYU's School of Nursing. Her sweet smile and gentle touch brought peace to parent and babe alike as she worked at the LDS Hospital Labor and Delivery unit for many years.

Betty's most enjoyable times were spent with her family and friends camping, traveling or just playing cards. She loved roses and chocolates. For many years holidays were filled with homemade chocolates and caramels that she lovingly shared with family, friends and neighbors. Always taking time to say thank you, her gentleness, kindness and humor will be missed.

She is survived by her daughters Sue (Steve) Feil and Marylu (Dave) Langford, sons Robert, Michael, Bryan (Angelica) and Douglas (Sue) Bailey, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and her sisters Dorothy Schettler (Gordon), Karen Barlow (Nathan) and Kaye Daw (Steve, deceased). She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (Murmur) and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Richard and Ray Wallin, and daughter-in-law, Gwenneth Bailey.

Funeral services will Friday June 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Canyon Rim Second Ward, 3000 South Grace Street (3100 East), Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 6 a
