Bountiful

Beverly Joyce Gagon, age 91, passed away on March 1, 2026 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born on September 17, 1934 in Los Angeles, California to Myer Blank & Jessie Wilma Hitesman.

Beverly was the oldest of three girls. She loved her Sisters dearly (Barbara & Bonnie) and remained close to them throughout her life. She also loved her parents. She once said, “whenever I hear the word Angel, I think of my Mom.” She also said of her Dad “no one ever had a better Dad then me.” She loved sports, including the Utah Jazz, The Los Angeles Dodgers,

Broadway theatre and doing crossword puzzles. She played the piano and in high school she played the marimba.

She married James C Goodwin in 1951 and they had three children together. They later divorced and in 1973 she married Ronald E Gagon who had five children of his own (Colleen, Rory, Sherman, Shelly and Lisa). Together they had eight children and life was good. Ron introduced Beverly to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and her testimony grew daily. She stayed faithful the rest of her life. She had many callings and served as a temple worker for many years. She loved her family and friends and they all loved her back. She had a great sense of humor and could laugh uncontrollably.

In 1983 Ron and Beverly moved from California to Bountiful Utah. She loved her new home and neighborhood and it quickly became the place to be. Mick and his friends loved to be there. She would feed them all, everyone was welcome and she soon became the neighborhood grandma.

Beverly was a wonderful grandma and it was truly one of the greatest joys in her life. She treated all of her grandkids equally and loved them all tremendously.

Beverly is survived by her son, Thomas Goodwin (Jenny) her daughter, Connie Garrison (Eric Vanderhooft), her sister Bonnie Hart; grandchildren, Mick Garrison (Jennifer), Steven Goodwin (Iris), Kurtis Goodwin (Rose), Dylan Goodwin (Brooklyn), Katy Roulette (Chris), Kylie Stone (Ryan), Bryce Grant (Chase), Matthew Goodwin, Derek Goodwin, daughter-in-law Cindy Goodwin, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Gagon, son, Robert Goodwin and Nephew Mark Moreland and her sister Barbara Koss.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial Lake View Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah 84010. A luncheon will be served in Beverly’s honor at 12:30 p.m. at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 55 S. Main St, Bountiful, Utah 84010.
