Beverly Ann Watts Timpson passed away peacefully in September 2026. She was born in 1931, the second child of Merlin and Juanita Watts in Murry, Utah at her grandfather’s home. She lived in Ogden, Tooele and Sugarhouse in her youth and graduated from South High School.
She married Donald Emery Timpson in 1954. They spent their first years of marriage traveling to different military posts, ending up in Germany where they had their first daughter, Tricia. They moved back to the U S and settled in East Millcreek in 1959. They added three more children to their family: Cindy, Joe, and James. Beverly and Don were married for 63 years and enjoyed playing tennis and golf.
Beverely was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Relief Society, Young Women and Primary. She especially loved working in the nursery. She served a South Salt Lake City Mission with her husband for several years.
Her favorite role was that of “Nana.” She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spent many hours caring for them. Beverly was faithful, devoted, and thoughtful to those around her. She was fiercely independent and loved being around friends and family.
She is survived by her children: Tricia Bowden (Greg), James Timpson (Dianne); thirteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; her sister Sharon Howard and Ray Watts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Don, her daughter Cindy MacFarlane, her son Joseph, her parents and two siblings, Gordon and Gary.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 5, from 9:30 to 10:45 am at the Olympus Hills ward meetinghouse located at 4176 S. Adonis Dr, SLC, UT. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
