Bobby Marks

Bobby Marks, 84 Passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025 at Alpine Meadow Rehab and Nursing home in West Valley City Utah. Bobby was born on March 16,1941 in Tonalea Arizona, to Leo and Elva Marks. 

In his younger years Bobby attended Kiabeto Elementary School and Tuba City Boarding School in Arizona, he then moved on to Richfield High School in Utah for about two years, after which he finished out his education at Fort Seal Indian School in Oklahoma. After finishing up with his education he started work immediately not only to support himself but his siblings and mother as well, and he continued to do so until he started his own family. Bobby has always been a dedicated provider for those he loved which he continued to do until he retired in 2003. His retirement was due to an injury on the job which caused him to go into early retirement. After which he dedicated his spare time to the LDS Church functions such as home teachings with missionaries. Bobby also served as a Branch President in the Red Lake Branch in Arizona, during the late 1970’s. He was a dedicated member of the LDS Church for most of his life. Bobby was proudly married to Grace Marks for 56 years until her passing in 2020. Together they raised 5 children.

Bobby enjoyed nature so therefore he enjoyed taking long walks and running, he was also into Martial arts which he practiced whenever he was in a position to not annoy his late wife. He enjoyed reading his Bible and the Book of Mormon. He also had a love for old Western movies, especially the ones that had the actor John Wayne and Clint Eastwood but was annoyed with Chuck Norris because his wife was in love with Chuck Norris. 

Bobby is survived by his children Rosita Marks, Bonita Marks, Irvin (Lisa) Marks, and Angela (Chinaski) Begaye. He had 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. His siblings are Elsie, Rena, Harry, Leo, Lavonnie, Varah(Larry), Laverne(Larry), Erwin(Kim), Yazzie, Elizabeth, and Kee (Sylvia). 

He is preceded in death by his parents Leo Marks Sr and Elva Jean Mexican Marks. His wife Grace Yazzie Marks, his daughter Anita Ann Marks, three grandchildren and his siblings Sally, Jesse, Betty, Doris, and Kee.

A viewing will be held on Saturday June 28, 2025 at 9:00 AM at the LDS Church 4634 W Harmon Dr, West Valley City Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location. Interment will be at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery at 12:30 PM at 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan Utah 84123.
