It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, wife and friend, Bonnie Burge, who peacefully passed away on July 20th, 2026 at the age of 90.
Born on June 23rd, 1936 in Detroit, MI Bonnie lived a life defined by unconditional love, unwavering kindness, and selfless devotion to her family and friends. She had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and comfort, where countless memories were made.
To know Bonnie was to know genuine compassion. She was the heart of her family—the one everyone turned to for advice, encouragement, or simply to be near a calming presence. She celebrated every milestone, comforted every sorrow, and never missed an opportunity to remind those she loved how proud she was of them. Her influence reached far beyond her immediate family, touching neighbors, lifelong friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. Whether attending birthdays, school events, graduations, holidays, or simply spending an afternoon together, she made every moment special. Her love was the foundation that held generations together, and her legacy will continue to live on through the values she instilled in all who knew her.
Bonnie is survived by her loving children Michelle, Bill, Lisa (Ken) and Mary, grandchildren Jessica, Erik (Jennette), Elliott (Aubin), Chase, Shad (Jessica), Austin (Larissa), and Sarah. Her 8 great-grandchildren brought her so much joy in her final days. She is also survived by extended family members and cherished friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 42 years Fred, brothers Don and Jimmy, and sister Betty.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love, strength, and kindness have become a part of each of us. She taught us the importance of family, compassion, resilience, and finding joy in life's simple moments. Her legacy is not only in the memories she leaves behind but in the lives she shaped and the love she gave so freely.
A gathering will be held on July 25th, 2026 at 10am at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary located at 3115 Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121 followed by funeral services at 10:45am.
The family would like to send a special thank you to her Canyon’s Hospice nurse Val. We will always cherish the love and care that she showed to Bonnie. We will never forget you. And also to all the care takers at Valencia Senior Living. They were all so kind and patient during her time there.
