Our deeply loved husband, father, brother, and friend passed away from cancer quietly at home on March 21, 2026 after a peaceful evening talking with family and friends.

Boyd lived a life marked by hard work, deep love for his family, and friendship. He spent his time restoring old cars, building things, and enjoying the outdoors.

Boyd was born in Mount Pleasant, to Marcella F. and Arthur Lee Carter. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived these teachings with integrity. As a devoted family man his greatest joy came from time spent with those he loved most—his wife, children, grandchildren, and lifelong friends.

His daughter Sydnee described Boyd as being known for his resourcefulness. If he didn’t have a solution, he would find one. He had a “grizzly exterior with a teddy bear heart,” and was always ready with a quick comeback or a well-timed joke. He treasured quality time with his grandchildren and left a lasting impression through his humor, warmth, and steady presence.

Boyd loved working with his hands. A natural builder and fixer, he took pride in being the general contractor of the home he and his wife Darla built together. He found joy in restoring old cars, working on projects, and spending time outdoors—whether horseback riding, shooting, riding side-by-sides, or enjoying airplanes. He was loyal, capable, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

His daughter Lindsay said above all her father was a man of faith. He carried a strong testimony of Christ and lived it through service, forgiveness, and compassion. When asked how he was doing with his health challenges he said “God is doing what is right for me and that is all that I can ask of Him’”

He was an advocate for letting go of resentments and choosing love. His life reflected kindness, generosity, and a willingness to stand by others in times of need.

To his son Mitchell and those who knew him well, Boyd was a trusted friend and a great listener. He had a gift for storytelling and a love for humor, often quoting favorite movie lines in conversation and sharing laughter with those around him. He was honest, genuine, and bold—never afraid to say what needed to be said, even when it was difficult. He was detail-oriented and believed in doing things right the first time. He was a playful and affectionate father and grandfather, and he never let anyone leave without a hug and the words, “I love you.”

Though Boyd enjoyed a lifetime of good health, he started losing weight and learned he had developed multiple myeloma in 2020. He courageously faced this cancer and entered remission, allowing his family more cherished time together. In 2024, his myeloma returned, accompanied by a diagnosis of leukemia (MDS). Despite the immense challenges of navigating two cancers that were difficult to treat simultaneously, Boyd faced each day with strength, grace, and resilience.

His daughter Sydnee was a match for a bone marrow transplant, and she gladly donated, which gave him nearly two extra years to spend with his grandkids whom he loved so much.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated medical teams who cared for Boyd, including the LDS Bone Marrow Transplant doctors and nurses, Britt at Loveland Clinic, and Pam at Riverton Infusion, whose compassion and attentive care meant so much during his cancer journey.

Boyd is proceeded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by His wife Darla, and children Lindsay (Chris), Mitchell (Bobbi) , and Sydnee (Tony) and grandkids Copeland, Oaklee, Emory, Carter, Cohl, Livia, Avee, Anthon, and Elsee along with his siblings Molly, Craig, and Valerie (Steve).

Boyd will be remembered for his strength, his humor, his unwavering love, and the legacy of kindness and faith he leaves behind. His presence will be deeply missed, but his influence will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
