Boyd Terry
July 12, 1935 – April 10, 2023
Resident of Bountiful, Utah
Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully. Boyd was the second oldest of four children born to Merrill and Euphamia Terry in Lyman, Wyoming. He graduated from Davis High School and attended Utah State University. Boyd met the love of his life while delivering milk to mom and her roommates when she was attending BYU. They were married and sealed to each other August 5, 1955, in the Logan Utah Temple.
Boyd lived a full life and held many ward and stake positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Dad and mom served an LDS Mission at the Cove Fort Historical Site, living 6 months in their RV trailer and another year at an apartment at the Fort where they made many lifetime friends.
Boyd worked at Sperry with it changing names a couple of times. He started employment as a young man and retired as a Production Manager for L3 Communications. Dad always held a part-time job for many years as we all grew up to support his family and give those fun trips and extras.
Family was extremely important to dad. Mom and dad made it a priority to have a yearly family vacation creating many memories of places including Logan Canyon, Yellowstone, Flaming Gorge and many trips to California. He loved spending time at the family cabin, riding the ATV’s and going fishing. Dad always enjoyed riding his motorcycle and rode it most of the year (even in winter when it was safe) to and from work. All his children learned to ride a Honda 90 at a very early age. Dad loved to play golf and enjoyed many rounds with family members and friends.
Dad loved to hunt and carried an annual hunting license. Most years were successful, supplying meat for our family. Dad always stayed busy. He enjoyed working on his vehicles, attending car shows, and took pride working in his yard. After retirement, he drove cars part-time for the auto auction where he met many friends and enjoyed driving the latest models.
Dad is at peace and we know it was a joyous reunion with mom. Boyd is survived by his children: Pamela (David) Scott, Sue (Lee) Follett, Jolene (Mike) Phinney, Jeffrey (Jill) Terry and Lisa (Larry) Lasky, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, his brother – LaVere Terry, sister – Sandra Hatch and their spouses.
Many thanks to Creekside Assisted Living Center and their memory unit for their care for the past 27 months.
