Salt Lake City

Obituary

Son, Father, Uncle and to so many- friend.

Brandon Lee Longton, 47, of Salt Lake City died holding his daughter’s hand on October 1st, 2026.

Brandon was born on December 20th, 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Melissa and Richard Longton. He was raised in the Salt Lake Valley by his mom, Melissa Longton and his foster parents, Marcia and Kenyon Clark.

Brandon was a smart, active, and courageous child. He was a math whiz and enjoyed playing baseball. He carried these passions with him throughout his life.

He was a free spirit, and spent much of his teenage/ young adult years causing a ruckus with his best friend, Arley, and his cousin, Duaine.

He was a master HVAC technician (guru), and he was incredibly proud of his craft. When he started his business, Total Home Comfort Heating and Air, he made it a company value to do honest work for an honest price.

Brandon was a proud member of Addicts Fighting Back and found his sobriety and passion in service. You could regularly find him playing recovery softball, volunteering at Sunday outreach, or attending events for the community. His dedication to his sobriety and worldly positivity inspired many.

He loved all sports, and found great joy in attending Utah Utes football games with his cousin, Duaine. Brandon found true glee in teaching himself how to “bust a move” and many looked forward to his dancing videos.

He loved often and loudly. He made it his mission to ensure that those around him knew how much they meant to him. He firmly believed in manifestation and putting into the world what you wanted to receive. He was very intentional with his words and actions.

Brandon’s two favorite roles were Pops and Uncle B. He cherished his daughters and felt their accomplishments personally. He had many related and chosen nieces and nephews, and he a made it a point to show up for all of the children in his life.

Brandon is survived by his daughters Ember (Daniel) and Saije (Caleb); his brothers Jason (Michelle) and Trent. As well as many, many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Melissa and Richard Longton, his brother Jeremy, his grandparents Carol and Melvin Taylor, his grandparents Phyllis and Herbert Longton, his uncle Cory Longton, his cousins Jessica and Brieanna Jones, as well as friends Sarah, CT, and Cam.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 5:00-8:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9119 South 1300 East, Sandy, Utah 84094
