Brian Ayers Stevens, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born in Salt Lake City on February 1, 1956 and grew up in the Mt. Aire Acres neighborhood with his parents, Curtis and Florence Stevens, and brothers David and Robert. Brian loved his family. He enjoyed the energy of his nieces and nephews and was especially dedicated to his mother, staying close to her after the death of his father. He made friends wherever he went and you could always count on Brian to remember friends and family members birthdates and events.
Brian graduated from Olympus High School and worked for American Hardware, NAC, Pony Express, and the South Towne Expo Center. He liked football, hockey, classic movies and reading. Brian had an enviable gift: he was rarely troubled by the stresses of this world. He was a gentle soul who never sought to be the center of attention, but always enjoyed being part of the group.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregivers at Intermountain Medical Dialysis Services, Traditions Assisted Living, Makoff Transportation, Logisticare, and Taunya Morris, for their kindness and support which afforded him the independence he enjoyed through the end of his life.
Brian is survived by his brother Robert (Carol) Stevens, nephews Chad (Holly) Stevens, Paul Stevens, John Stevens and nieces Jennifer (Gary) Miller and Kathryn Stevens, and seven great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and brother David (Shonnie) Stevens.
A graveside service will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, on Thursday, December 11 at 11 am.
