Bryan Henry Reid was born on July 6, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and passed away on March 18, 2026, surrounded by his wife and three children.
He married his high school sweetheart, Claudia Holman Reid, on December 27, 1969.
Bryan was born to Henry and Vyone Reid in Salt Lake City, Utah. When he was four years old, the family moved to Kearns, Utah. He often spoke fondly of his childhood, including his beloved dog, Pugo, who was always by his side. From a young age, he loved playing baseball and was known for being helpful and caring toward his siblings. He also cherished visits to his grandmother’s farm in Ferron, Utah, where he loved spending time with her.
He graduated from Granger High School in 1967. After graduation, Bryan and Claudia packed up their 1964 Ford Fairlane and green Comet with little more than their clothes and wedding gifts and moved to Cedar City, Utah. They lived in a trailer while Bryan attended college and began building their family. Their first daughter, Richelle, was born during this time.
Bryan graduated from Southern Utah University in 1972 with a degree in Business Management and Finance. The family later returned to Salt Lake City, where they welcomed their second daughter, Mandy, and their son, Ryan.
Bryan was a devoted father who made sure his children always had what they needed. He made it clear that his family was his top priority. You never left without knowing how much he loved you and how grateful he was to be your dad. His favorite saying was, “Thanks for being my kid.”
He worked in the automobile industry for over 40 years and truly enjoyed it—being around cars, building and ordering new models, working with numbers, and helping families finance vehicles.
Bryan enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially on the golf course with his friends. He recently took first place in his men’s league and rarely missed a stop for a Dunford doughnut after a round. He played baseball and later softball for many years, forming lifelong friendships along the way. He also loved boating at Lake Powell and Bear Lake and was still waterskiing well into his mid-60s. Camping brought him great joy, and he also took great pride in keeping his vehicles clean and well cared for.
He was the biggest supporter of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, never missing a recital, tournament, game, or competition. He was always there, cheering from the sidelines.
Bryan’s close group of friends—known as the FOGs—shared many memorable golf outings and breakfasts at the Midvale Mining Company, filled with laughter and stories of the old days. His closest bond, however, was with his little/big brother Elliott. Their constant jokes, playful banter, and shared laughter brought joy to everyone around them.
Bryan is survived by his wife, Claudia; his children, Richelle Reid, Mandy Winter (Jeff), and Ryan Reid; five grandchildren, Braxton Bagley (Tavia), Tevin Bagley (Taryn), Alexus Winter (Kaiden), Chanden Reid (Addy), and Caden Jax Reid; and his great-grandchildren, Kade (Kayla), Swade, Steele, and Kove. He is also survived by his brothers, Elliott (Tracie) and Rick Reid.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Vyone Reid; his sister, Rhonda Reid; and his parents-in-law, Dale and Dott Holman.
The family would like to thank the staff of the CICU at Intermountain Medical Center for their kindness and care.
