Bryan J. Renstrom

October 10, 1926 — February 20, 2008

In loving memory of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, Bryan J. Renstrom who passed away February 20, 2008 at the age of 81.

He lived a life of love, service, exuberance and humor. Honesty and integrity are his legacy.

Born in Huntsville, Utah on October 10, 1926 to Arnold and Ruby Renstrom. Bryan fondly remembers growing up in that beautiful valley. He graduated from Weber High School where he was an all around athlete playing on the football and basketball teams. During World War II Bryan joined the United States Marine Corps during his senior year in high school. After serving his country he attended Weber College and Brigham Young University where he was instrumental in the establishment of the Program Bureau. BYU was also where he met the love of his life, Elaine Sorensen. They were married for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on August 19, 1954.

He is survived by his wife Elaine and their three daughters, Debora Smith (David), Shauna Blackham (Scotty), Tamara Renstrom and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Keith Renstrom. He was preceded into eternity by his parents, Arnold and Ruby Renstrom, sisters Gail Harper and Naomi Coleman, and brother Darrel Renstrom.

His life long passions were his wife and family, serving the Lord, and BYU sports. BYU has lost its greatest fan and supporter.

A faithful member of the LDS Church, Bryan served in numerous callings including fulfilling a three year mission in Sweden after World War II, High Councilor, Branch President, and twice as a Bishop touching the lives of countless people.

His life exemplified the admonition he always gave to others: "Go out there and give them heaven."

Life with Bryan was heaven. We love you with all our hearts and will miss you until we meet again for eternity. Your family.

A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the Salt Lake Valley View 12th Ward, 2125 E. Evergreen Avenue (3435 S.) at 11:00 a.m. preceded by a viewing from 9:30 am a
