In Loving Memory: Remembering a Great Father & Friend Burt Loveland
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved man who has touched the lives of many as a great father, friend, and so much more. Burt Dale Loveland passed away on July 31st 2023. Leaving behind a legacy that will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Burt was born in Salt Lake City to deaf parents Edward Paul and Jane Loveland. He spent his years growing up in his own version of Mayberry – the perfectly quaint, fictional community made popular by the Andy Griffith show. Running wild, getting dirty, and living life to the absolute fullest. Burt started his career driving trucks around 15 years old, and at the age of 21 he started driving for Meadow Gold Dairy where he grew his career into a sales position where he spent 34 years.
In 1993, Burt fell in love with the love of his life & his forever Valentine, Kimberly. They spent 29 love-filled years together, raising three outstanding children and a beautiful granddaughter. Burt was a pillar of strength and love, who always put his family first. He supported his kids’ passions and was never content to just watch from the sidelines; he always eagerly embraced their interests and became an active participant. It was through these hobbies and his kids that he gained numerous other sons and daughters who viewed him as a father figure. Burt leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance that will forever be cherished.
Beyond his role as a father, Burt had a flair for the culinary arts. His kitchen was a place of warmth and laughter, where friends and family gathered to savor not just his culinary delights but also his infectious laughter and impeccable story telling.
He was also a true outdoorsman at heart. Burt found solace and joy in nature’s embrace. From dirt biking in the mountains to fishing and hunting, he reveled in every opportunity to explore the beauty of the outdoors.
But above all, Burt was a cherished friend who had a heart of gold, and he embraced the needs of others with open arms. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need, and his kindness touched countless lives. Whether it was voluntary catering services, rebuilding an engine, or just offering a helping hand, he was always there to make a difference.
As we bid farewell to this incredible soul, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Let us celebrate his life and find solace in knowing his spirit will live on in laughter, the warmth of shared meals, and the love that he sowed into the hearts of all those he touched.
Burt is survived by his wife Kimberly Loveland (nee Brohamer) and his children: Megan (Larry), Paul (Megan), Shawn (Courtney), and his granddaughter Tristyn (aka Gordy Jackson from Vermont). His siblings Al (Jimi), Dan (Kathy), Ella (Norma), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewings will be held for Burt at 6030 S Prairie View Drive, Taylorsville, UT 84129, on Friday, August 4th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm and Saturday, August 5th 10:00am – 12:00pm with funeral services to follow. Interment will be in Memorial Mountain View Cemetery 3115 East Bengal Boulevard.
