Carl Ray Carlston

Carl Ray Carlston passed away peacefully November 18, 2023 in Holladay, Utah at the age of 87. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah January 1, 1936 to James and Wealtha Carlston. He was a much beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friends to who he touched many lives.

He married the love of his life and soulmate, Saundra Lee Carlston on March 18, 1957 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 66 years and they together had 5 wonderful boys.

He was blessed to have a close and loving family that spent many times together hunting, fishing, working and camping. He was a master craftsman of many things. He loved being with and teaching his 5 boys craftmanship, work ethics, and his master craftmanship of construction. When he would relax and sit down, he enjoyed watching many cowboy shows over and over again.

He is survived by his wife, Saundra; sons Ray (Bobbie) Carlston, Vaughn (Jean) Carlston, Gary (Lynette) Carlston, Eric (Jen) Carlston, daughter-in-law, Kathy Carlston, Lee (Sue) Follett, brother, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. Preceded in death by son Dale Carlston and grandson, Justin Carlston.

He will be missed by many people. We love you! Until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brookshire Ward chapel, 3487 South 1300 East, SLC, UT 84106. The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will be at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah 84117 at 12:30 p.m.
