Carla Jan Peterson Hennessy

Our beautiful Carla passed away February 20, 2013 due to complications after a second bone marrow transplant to cure leukemia. Carla was beating leukemia at the time of her passing.

She was born November 11, 1969 to Pamela McCall and the late Carl Peterson. She was raised in Salt Lake and graduated from Skyline High School and attended Dixie College. Carla married her "prince," Jeff, on September, 25, 1993. She adored him with all her heart. Her sweet daughters, McCall and Callie, were the light of her life. She loved boating, Halloween, the Dirty Dash run, and watching her girls excel in sports.

Mourning her passing are Jeff, McCall, Callie, mother Pam, stepfather Dennis, brother Jason, mother-in-law Rose and numerous family and friends. A special place in all of our hearts goes to the staff at the Blood Marrow Transplant Unit and ICU of LDS Hospital who provided "Maximum Care" and love far beyond the call of duty. She was considered a Rock Star and was given Rock Star treatment.

From her husband Jeff: Carla provided support, strength, counseling to patients beginning a similar challenge and took pride in doing so. Early in the battle we encountered many unknowns, which lead to a frequent muttered motto, "What The Hell!". She would face that challenge and move forward with grace, strength and resolve. Her "boyfriends" David and Tony at the clinic made her giggle and smile, and I am ok with that. Her bright smile will be in mine and all of our hearts. I love you.

A celebration of Carla's life will be held Tuesday, February 26, at Christ United Methodist Church, 2375 E 3300 S, SLC, at 6:00pm followed by an open house reception from 6:30-8:00pm. Messages to the family can be posted at: www.HolbrookMortuary.com
