Carlena E. Bergman

It is with heavy heart and love for the life well-lived that we announce the passing of Carlena Erwin Bergman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loving friend. Carlena left the earth peacefully on April 25, 2026, at the age of 86 shortly before her birthday. She was surrounded by the love and warmth of her Family. She passed away at the Beehive retirement center in Herriman, UT. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Glenn H. Bergman.
Born on May 10,1939, in the scenic town of Afton, Wyoming, Carlena was the daughter of Glenna Eunice Erwin and A. Carl Erwin. She was named after both parents and was not a fan of her name from an early age. She grew to like her name but it took some time. She was a loving daughter and sister to Robert Erwin and Marie Erwin Turner. She loved being on the farm with her grandparents and parents from a young age.
She moved around with her family until they settled in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They lived there until she was a sophomore in high school, then her family moved to Great Falls, Montana. She graduated from Great Falls high school. After high school she worked for a year and then decided to go to Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. Carlena married Glenn Bergman on November 12, 1959 the love of her life in the Idaho Falls Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Carlena and Glenn raised their family, beginning a beautiful journey of partnership and shared dreams. Together they raised their family with unwavering love and dedication and foundational values. Carlena is survived by their four sons: David G. Bergman, M. Scott Bergman (Barb), Paul G. Bergman (Cindy), and Gary J. Bergman. In addition, her brother, Robert Erwin, and sister Marie Turner. Her legacy continues through her 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Carlena was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, She had a testimony of the gospel and loved to share it with her sons. She also had a talent for quilting, knitting, crocheting, needle point, and toll painting. She worked for Bryner Clinic in the Medical records department and other departments for 20 plus years until she retired.
Family, friends, and community members are invited to celebrate Carlena’s life and legacy at her funeral service on Tuesday May 5, 2026, with a viewing from 9 am to 10:45 am in the Relief Society room. The funeral services will be at 11:00 AM in the chapel at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 2400 E Alta Canyon Dr., Sandy, UT. Carlena E. Bergman leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering faith. Her life was a testament to love, dedication, and service. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable journey she led and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother and a Great-grandmother, she loved all whom she came across and wanted the best for all she met.
